Shammara Hasty obtained her NC Real Estate Brokers license in January 2020. She has more than 17 years of experience designing, managing and auditing corporate compliance programs in different industries. She also develops curriculum and instructs higher education courses, as an adjunct professor, in Human Resources Management, and Leadership and Organizational Change at Johnson C. Smith University.

Shammara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Legal Assistant Certificate from Samford University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy and Law from Walden University. She also holds a certificate from Cornell University in Human Resources Strategic Leadership and has completed multiple courses in Project Management from the Project Management Institute. She was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 2001 after serving on active duty as Clerk of Court. Shammara is the owner of A Classy Closet LLC, a women’s fashion boutique, owner of SFF Consulting and Customized Services LLC, a NC Notary Public, and a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant.

She is an active volunteer with American Red Cross (Services to the Armed Forces Committee), Charlotte Men’s Shelter, Charlotte Bridge Home, and a founding member of the Charlotte Veterans Women’s Group. She has been a member of the Optimist International’s Birmingham-West End Optimist Club since 2004, holding various leadership positions such as President and Oratorical Contest Chair. She also served President of a major electric utility’s veterans affinity group for two years, Vice Chair for one year, and Community Outreach Chair for one year. She currently serves as a Board Member for Taiwo Foundation and as a member of the Grants Committee for the North Carolina Heroes Fund.

Shammara also supports Second Harvest Food Bank, The Salvation Army Center for Hope, Exposure Project, Community Based Initiative (C.B.I), and The Alabama Kidney Foundation.

Shammara enjoys spending time with friends and family, gardening, and stay-cations.
