How to Celebrate July 4th in Charlotte

July 4th is one of the most important holidays of the year and one of the most enjoyable. With parades, fireworks, cookouts and all types of fun summer events, families will be out having plenty of fun in Charlotte.

If you're new to Charlotte or you're just not sure what's going on, you're in luck. We have all the top July 4th events in Charlotte listed below to give you a better idea of what's available and where your family should go to celebrate the holiday.

Charlotte Symphony Summer Pops: Celebrate America

Since July 4th falls on a Wednesday this year, you may want to start the celebration early. The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will hold a concert on July 1st as a part of their Summer Pops series. It will include Fireworks and plenty of patriotic songs.

This fun event will start at 8:15pm and will be held at Symphony Park The cost is $5 to $15 and children 12 and under get in free.

Family Fun Night: Queen City Brass Band

Those over in the Mint Hill area will have the chance to enjoy the annual Family Fun Night. This year it will feature Queen City Brass Band on stage, face painting, a bounce house, plenty of food and family games. However, it's important to note, this event does not include fireworks.

The Family Fun Night will start at 6:30pm and will be held on July 3rd at Mint Hill Town Hall. It's a free event for all to enjoy.

Red, White and BOOM

A very popular event held in Rock Hill every year, Red, White, and BOOM will be held on July 3rd this year. It will include food trucks, plenty of inflatables, rides, live music, an ice-cream eating contest, and fireworks.

The event will run from 5pm to 11pm in Downtown Rock Hill. It's free for the entire family to enjoy.

Summer Celebration

The entire family can come out to the Lowe's YMCA in Mooresville to enjoy a celebration event with plenty of fun for everybody. Local entertainment will take the stage and there will be plenty of kid-friendly activities. A wonderful fireworks show will finish out the night and you'll want to bring blankets and chairs to sit on.

The event will be held from 4pm to 10pm at the Lowe's YMCA on Joe V. Knox Avenue. It's free for the entire family.

Rocket Run

Those looking to do a run for the Fourth of July will enjoy the Rocket Run in Waxhaw. This event will include a two-mile run or walk with a live band after the race. There will be plenty of food trucks on hand and a kids-for-fun race will be held at 7pm, as well.

The Rocket Run will start at 7:30pm at the MillBridge. The cost is $30 for those participating in the race.

Harrisburg July 4th Celebration

If you're near Harrisburg, you can enjoy a two-day festival to honor those who have served in the military. This event will include a parade, entertainment, amusements, crafts, fireworks and more. The parade will be held on Highway 49 starting at 9am on July 4th.

This celebration will be held from 4pm to 10pm on July 3rd ad 4pm to 11pm on July 4th at Harrisburg Park. It's free for all to enjoy.

USNWC Fourth of July Celebration

One of the biggest celebrations in Charlotte is the U.S. National Whitewater Center's Fourth of July Celebration. It's a two-day festival with all kinds of outdoor adventure fun, live music, yoga and incredible fireworks. Musical performances will be held each night with fireworks both nights, as well.

This great event will run from 3pm to 9:30pm both days and will be held at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. It's free to get in, but there is a $6 fee for parking.

American 4-Miler

Another race held in Charlotte for Independence Day, the American 4-Miler will be held on July 4th at 8:30am. This race will start at Metropolitan in Charlotte and there is no race-day registration. Early registration runs from $5 to $35 and there will be a one-mile kids' run, too.

July 4th Festival

If you live near Tega Cay, you can enjoy the July 4th Festival with the annual Land Parade. This event includes canoe jousting, a boat parade, a performance from the Carolina Ski Show Team. The Splish-N-Splash Summer Bash will be a part of the event, as well.

The event will be held at Windjammer Park with the Splish-N-Splash Summer Bash held at the Golf Club Pavilion. It's a free event to enjoy all day on July 4th.

4th of July Firecracker Run

If you want to enjoy a longer run, the 4th of July Firecracker Run in the Village of Lake Park is perfect for you. It includes a 1K, 5K, and 10K race. You will get to dress in your most patriotic consume for the "most festively dressed" contents, if you want and enjoy a community festival and picnic. The event also includes a three-legged race, wheel-barrel race, and egg races.

The 4th of July Firecracker Run ranges from 410 to $40 and will be held at the Village of Lake Park in Union County on July 4th.

Fun Family 4th of July

A fun event in Matthews, NC, the Fun Family 4th of July event includes an old-fashioned parade with plenty of fun. Along with the parade, you can decorate bikes at 5pm at Town Hall Green and enjoy plenty of other fun events.

In addition, there will be plenty of fun with a concert by The Entertainers in Stumptown Park after the parade. The concert will start at 7pm. The event will run from 5pm to 9pm at Stumptown Park on July 4th. It's free for all to enjoy.

4th of July in Davidson

Another great event including the option to decorate bikes, wagons, and scooters is the 4th of July in Davidson. You can ware patriotic attire and enjoy a free concert featuring RadioJacks at the Davison's Village on the Green. The event will run from 5pm to 8pm with the concert starting at 6pm. It's free for all to enjoy.
